DECEMBER 2013 - New Years Eve hits Sydney!

Always a busy month for the Catapult team, in 2013 we were proud to produce several New Years Eve events across Sydney.

Taronga Zoo 2013
The Taronga Zoo New Years Eve celebrations were held across several areas throughout the Zoo and were enjoyable for all involved! With three stages set throughout the Zoo, the views to the city, Harbour Bridge and Opera House were the ideal backdrop for the great range of hand picked performers. As the sun set, the natural environment was brought to life with the use a customised designed lighting effect set placed throughout the zoo, creating a truly memorable and beautiful atmosphere.

In addition, Catapult were engaged to design and produce staging, theming and lighting for the Foundation Centre Ball and Cocktail Party.

Parramatta City Council 2013

For the third year in a row, Catapult produced the Parramatta City Council New Years Eve events held along Parramatta River and with the addition of the Parade Ground for 2013. With crowd numbers close to 45,000 and the temperature staying at a comfortable 28 degrees a hugely enjoyable day was had by all.
Live and roving entertainment, food stalls and rides kept patrons entertained through the afternoon, leading to an amazing fireworks finale at 9pm.

September 2013 - Sydney Country Music Festival

Held for the first time in 2011, the Sydney Country Music was initially held at the Castle Hill Showgrounds. In 2013, Hills Shire Council decided to move the event to the stunning Bella Vista Farm, which also enabled Catapult to showcase the venue.

Catapult were engaged to design, produce and market this event. We took the event in 2013 to a new level, with an excellent line-up of crowd favourite and up and coming performers. In addition, a range of family friendly activities were held throughout the day.

To engage with local talent, a Songwriters Competition was designed to uncover new talent. This enabling the finalist an opportunity to play in front of the SCMF audience and to offer attendees a second stage of local artists. The winner of the competition went on to play to the audience on the main stage prior to Troy Cassar-Daly's performance.

Troy Cassar-Daly, McAlister Kemp, Chelsea Basham, Adam Eckersley Band, The Wolverines and Ruby Boots provided entertainment on the main stage from midday, with a spectacular fireworks finale.

Catapult worked closely with the Hills Shire Council to market the event and were pleased to achieve a crowd of over 3,500, with the newly designed format and location. Through a well executed strategic plan, the Sydney Country Music Festival now has a following of over 6,000 and a brand that people within the local area and beyond recognise.

Patron's are eagerly awaiting the release of 2014's dates.

April 2013 - MTV Ironman 3 Launch

MTV Networks engaged Catapult to design and produce a VIP launch event for the premier of Iron Man 3. The brief was to design an event that was engaging and different to a usual launch event! Our concept was to re-create Tony Stark's mansion and invite guests to be part of Stark Industries!

We scoured Sydney for an appropriate private mansion and through the use of branding and lighting effects, turned one of Sydney's local residences into Tony's pad for the night.

Over 150 guests were whisked by several hummers from MTV's head office to the secret private residences, treated to live entertainment, stunning cocktails and canapés and danced the night away!IRONMAN31 97

October 2012 - Australian National Maritime Museum

Catapult was engaged to design and produce the bi-annual Classic & Wooden Boats Festival by the Australian Maritime Museum

We brought a unique blend of entertainment and sophistication across the festival weekend. With something for every age and designed to attract a new range of visitors, the Festival saw approximately 6,000 patrons across the weekend.

The Call of the Sirens mesmerised the audiences across the Festival; Sirens are well-known throughout history; femme fatales luring sailors with their captivating song call. Performing a range of musical genres from 1950's/60's hits, jazz, soul and the latest pop/rock some of Australia's leading female songstresses took to the waterways including Evelyn Duprai, Natasha Stuart, Juanita Tippins, Danni Da Ros, Mali Ka-Hood and Carmen Smith. Saturday evening saw ARIA award winning Clare Bowditch enchant the crowds under a starry Sydney sky.

In addition to family favourite entertainment and some of the most amazing classic boats from around the world, this two day Festival is set to return bigger and better in 2014.

August 2012 - Wild Turkey

The second Turkey 10 activation! This time, we turned the Central Tigers' local Saturday afternoon game into a professional sporting arena – and all in 15 minutes!

July 2012 - Wild Turkey

The Turkey 10 goes LIVE! Wild Turkey Australia launched The Turkey 10 in March 2012; it commenced as an on-air concept which unearthed 10 local adult grassroots sporting teams around the country. They didn't necessarily sit on top of the results ladder but had spirit, guts, flair and strength of character – and weren't afraid to show it!

We saw some amazing progress throughout the 2012 Turkey 10 season.

The Chadstone Football Club (Melbourne) won their first game in 4 years! It was their first win in 69 games!

The Bosco Bulldogs (Sydney) and The Mighty Dons (Bunbury, WA), both got their first wins of the season.

And the Central Tigers (Townsville) played in the final for the minor premiership.

To help them achieve these results, Catapult produced two 'surprise' activations – to show the teams support!

The first activation saw choppers, commando soldiers, boot camp trainers, cheerleaders descending onto an unsuspecting Bosco Bulldogs as part of their weekly training session.

May 2012 - Meat & Livestock Australia

Catapult proudly produced the Meat & Livestock Australia Global Black Box Challenge. Four years in the making, the Black Box Challenge attracts Chefs from around the Globe. 2012, this event was held in Tasmania, Australia for the first time and saw 15 teams hitting our shores for a week long culinary extravaganza!

The competition itself was held over two jam packed days; with the Black Box ingredients being unveiled on the Hobart Waterfront.
